BRUSHCUTTER / TRIMMER

2 Day Course

Instruction in maintaining and operating brushcutters / trimmers.

Course Outline
  • maintenance (engine, drive system and gear head)
  • selecting the appropriate cutting head
  • re-assembly
  • maintaining and fitting the cutting head
  • correct personal protective clothing
  • adjusting the machine and harness
  • inspecting the site and identifying hazards
  • environmental considerations
  • fuelling
  • starting the machine
  • cutting a test area
  • after-care and safe transportation

Training is a legal requirement.

The Provision and Use of work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) require employers to provide adequate training to ensure that chainsaws and related equipment are operated only by employees who have received appropriate training.

On the last day of the course the trainee is assessed and on achieving the required standard, will be awarded a Lantra integrated training and assessment certificate.
