Chainsaw Courses

We run a 2 day and a 5 day chainsaw course.

2 Day: Instruction in maintaining the chainsaw and crosscutting ready-felled trees. Suitable for the casual user or those wishing to obtain an NPTC Certificate of Competence.

5 Day: Instruction in basic chainsaw techniques including maintenance, crosscutting and felling trees up to 380mm diameter. This course is in preparation for NPTC assessment.

Tractor Driving

Instruction in the safe operation of tractors.  Suitable for tractor drivers with little or no experience working in agriculture, amenity, forestry, industrial and horticulture industries.

Telescopic Forklift

The duration of these courses ranges from 2 – 5 days, depending upon the experience of the operator. An experienced operator would require a 2 day course and those with little or no experience would require between 3 and 5 days training. If the trainee has very little experience with a fork lift but is a car and / or a tractor driver, he would probably be able to reach the required standard within 3 days.

First Aid

We offer the 1 day Emergency First aid At Work course and the 3 day First Aid at Work course, the latter includes an HSE approved assessment. The certificates are valid for 3 years, renewable with a 1 day refresher or 2 day refresher / assessment course. ½ day “Annual skills update” refresher sessions are also available.

Brushcutter / Trimmer

Instruction in maintaining and operating brushcutters and trimmers.

ATV

This course is for any person who uses, or will be using, an all terrain vehicle. That is tracked or multi-wheeled.

Safe Use of Pesticides

As pesticides are potentially harmful substances it is essential that they are handled, applied and stored by people who have received proper training.

Digger

Instruction in the safe operation of 180 and 360 degree excavators. Suitable for operators with little or no experience working in the agriculture, fencing, groundcare, horticulture, landscaping industries and on construction and industrial sites.
