Industrial & Telescopic Fork Lift
2 – 5 day course
The duration of these courses ranges from 2 – 5 days, depending upon the
experience of the operator. An experienced operator would require a 2 day course
and those with little or no experience would require between 3 and 5 days
training. If the trainee has very little experience with a fork lift but is a
car and / or a tractor driver, he would probably be able to reach the required
standard within 3 days.
Course outline
- the essential features of lift trucks and
their maintenance
- how to avoid the potential dangers of lift
truck operation
- how to assess loads and move them safely
- how to get the best from your truck in
different conditions
- the relevant legal requirements
Training is a legal requirement.
The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) require employers
to ensure that lift trucks are operated only by employees who have received
appropriate training and assessments in accordance with the Code of Practice for
lift trucks laid down by the Health & Safety Commission.
Upon successful completion of the course and meeting the required standard,
candidates are awarded a Lantra integrated training and assessment certificate.
A 1-Day refresher is also available for those who hold a current certificate.
